Introduction and purposes: The virtual world is a universe which its effects on our lives have not only always been attractive but also a question and due to its over-expansion in today’s world, it has created a great deal of sensitivity. Therefore, at this research, we have tried to study these tools of communication & their effects on a statistical population, which in this case have been the students of Azad Tehran-Central University.
Method: Accordingly, 300 questionnaires were distributed among two groups of social networks members & non-members students & by designing questions related to social networks and lifestyle, we studied the effects of these kinds of communication tools on lifestyles of Azad Tehran-Central university students, in order to answer this fundamental question that whether there is a meaningful relation between membership & presence at virtual social networks (Facebook) and the lifestyles of Azad Tehran-Central university students. This was analyzed by taking advantage of descriptive & inferential statistics (frequency, frequency percentage & frequency distribution rate & table) and the SPSS software.
Findings: In this regards, the hypothesis of this research was set, as “there seems to be a meaningful relation between membership and presence at virtual social networks (Facebook) & the lifestyle of Azad Tehran-Central university students”.
Conclusion: The research has shown that neither the length of membership at virtual social networks nor the amount of activity at these networks have not under-liedthe formation of any special lifestyle among the statistical population, therefore the hypothesis of this research was rejected and the lack of a direct relationship between membership at social networks & a significant lifestyle is proved.
